AT&T says it's trying to save lives by loading an app on Android and Blackberry smart phones that keeps drivers from receiving texts while the car is in motion.
AT&T's Carlos Ramirez says you don't need to remember to open the Drive Mode app.
"The app immediately turns on when your vehicle starts moving at 25 miles per hour."
Ramirez says the app intercepts texts and sends an automatic response.
"We wanna change behavior and save lives. Obviously there's no text that's worth dying for."
Ramirez says drivers are 23 times more likely to have an accident if they text while driving. The app is not yet available for the iPhone.
