Texas supplier faces sentence in Pa. coke pipeline
A Texas man who pleaded guilty to supplying a cocaine pipeline that also included a former assistant western Pennsylvania high school football coach is scheduled for sentencing before a federal judge in Pittsburgh.
Thirty-nine-year-old Vincent Middlebrooks, of Houston, was scheduled to be sentenced Monday afternoon.
He had previously pleaded guilty after an investigation begun when a Texas trucker, 46-year-old Gathon Dudley Shannon, of Houston, was arrested in October 2011 when authorities seized more than 35 pounds of cocaine and $669,000 from his vehicle. He'll be sentenced April 22.
His arrest led to charges against Middlebrooks and two other men, including 36-year-old Carlos Cleckley, who formerly coached at Beaver Falls High School, about 30 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.
He'll be sentenced later this year along with 36-year-old Adrian Taylor, of Beaver Falls.
