IRS won't accept electronic filings until late February

If you like to file your income taxes electronically as soon as possible, the Fiscal Cliff debacle has thrown a wrench in your plans.

Houston CPA Michael Parmet says you won't be able to file this month.

"The IRS has really, already told us that they probably will not be accepting returns until late February."

Parmet says it's not the fault of Turbo Tax or any other commercial software -- it's the IRS.

"They may have the programming done by the middle to late January but the IRS won't be able to accept your tax return electronically until late February."

Parmet says there'll be patches that update your tax return software, but that won't make the feds any faster.
