Denver brewery releases Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout.
Competition within the beer industry has spawned chocolate beer, hemp beer, even chili beer. Now a Colorado brewer is introducing a Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout
Houston beer guru James Simpson actually tried it, adding this is what it takes to stand out in the beer world.
“Here's just a brewery, Wynkoop, that said hey we've got this idea to throw in bull testicles into the mash,” Simpson tells KTRH News.
Simpson says the whole idea actually started as an April Fool's Day joke.
“The video went viral among the beer brewing community, so they actually brewed a batch and released it at the Great American Beer Festival, people went nuts over it,” he says.
But would you try it?
“I love beer, but no, no, sorry,” said one KTRH listener.
“Oh my God no, that sounds awful,” said another.
But at least one woman we spoke says yes indeed she would try it. “I'm really curious, and I'm allergic to a lot of things, but I don't think bull testicles is one of those things,” she told us.
For those thinking of buying some here in Texas, Simpson says Wynkoop had to jump numerous government hurdles to get the beer released, and he's unsure whether the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission would approve the bull testicle concoction here in the Lone Star State.
