Houston has highest rent increases
The Bayou City does it again. Forbes adds to Houston to another list, for this highest hike in rental rates in 2012.
From 2011 to 2012, rent sky rocketed 16.8 percent and the median monthly rent in Houston is now $1,270. According to Forbes, this is because more people are moving to Houston for work and with a greater demand for apartments; complexes can charge higher prices in rent.
