Blue Bell Expanding
Officials at Blue Bell Creameries announce plans to expand their Brenham plant by 25-percent.
The 14-million dollar project would add about 100,000 square feet to the facility’s cold storage and production capability. An estimated 50 new jobs will be created once construction is complete. It is also the first major expansion of the plant in nearly 20 years.
The company is one of three private operations taking advantage of a tax “phase-in” offered by the city of Brenham, which will save them nearly 450,000-dollars over the next eight years.
Blue Bell Ice Cream is currently available in 20 states.
