Shooting over newly released Air Jordan XI

Harris County Sheriff's Office Homicide investigators have arrested 3 individuals in connection to the Dec. 21, 2012 murder of Joshua Wood. Mr. Wood was killed by the three men who demanded the pair of Air Jordan shoes he and a friend had just purchased.

Three suspects, Neal Bland, 18YO; Anthony Wade, 19YO; and Keagean Arrington 19, have all been charged with capital murder.

The shooting happened Friday, December 21, 2012 at around 10:30 a.m. in the 1700 block of Plumwood Dr.

According to investigators Mr. Wood and a friend (the driver) went to Willowbrook Mall to buy several pair of ‘Air Jordan’ shoes. They headed home in a vehicle.

As the driver pulled up to the front of his home, a vehicle pulled up in front of his car. An armed man exited the car and demanded the shoes that had been purchased.

The driver took off running on foot, with the man shooting after him, leaving Mr. Wood, the passenger, in the car. As the driver was knocking on a neighbor’s door looking for help, he heard another set of shots. According to investigators, those shots were fired at Mr. Wood in the car by the second man.

Mr. Wood, who was trying to get behind the wheel of the car to escape, drove away wounded. He crashed in between two houses and hit a gas line. He was taken to Houston Northwest Hospital where he died. The driver was not hurt.

The case is still under investigation.
