Most Unproductive Congress Ever?

May surpass Truman's 'Do-Nothing' Congress.

As we near the fiscal cliff, some are calling this Congress the most unproductive since Harry Truman's famous 'do nothing' Congress of the 1940s.

Political insider Chris Begala says people are right to criticize, adding the 112th Congress, despite deals and promises, has done nothing to trim entitlement programs.

"Unemployment goes for 99 weeks, that is a joke," says Begala.  "We've now got nearly 9 million people on disability, that's a joke."

Begala blames a lack of leadership on both sides of the aisle for the political stalemate as we near the fiscal cliff.

"There's absolutely no leadership coming from Republicans," he says.  "And there's virtually no leadership coming from the Democrats except for President Obama saying he wants to raise taxes.  This is a disaster."

By comparison, this Congress has passed just 219 bills while 383 bills were passed during the previous session and 460 before that.
