Predictions of 'home by Christmas' were optimistic

Former President George H.W. Bush remains at the Methodist Hospital, with no time schedule set for his possible release.  The 88-year old has been in the hospital for more than a month battling bronchitis and its complications.

Earlier this week there were reports the former president would be released in time to spend Christmas with his family.

According to a statement from Methodist spokesman George Kovacik,”President Bush remains in stable condition in the hospital. His doctors feel he should build up his energy before going home. They remain optimistic about his full recovery and are being extra cautious with his care. No discharge date has been set at this time.”
