A popular Houston gun shop owner says he was the target of a death threat.

Jim Pruett of Jim Pruett’s Guns & Ammo tells our TV partner Local-2 he received a letter Saturday, threatening his life as well as those of his family and employees.

The author of the letter claims to be a former Marine, and it reads in part, “Live by the gun. Die by the gun. You will not live to see Easter... It's time we stopped arming the Mexican drug lords and you've been chosen as the example of what will happen if business as usual continues in southeast Texas.”

Pruett, who was one half of the legendary Houston radio team Stevens & Pruett, says he’s turned the letter over to the Harris County Sheriff’s Department and expects it to be passed along to the Department of Homeland Security.
