Tigers are once again State Champs
For the seventh time in school history, the Katy Tigers are state football champions. They beat the Cedar Hill Longhorns 35-24 in Arlington to claim the Class 5A Division II crown.

Running back Adam Taylor led the way, rushing for 275 yards on 40 carries and scoring five touchdowns. The future Cornhusker was named Offensive Player of the Game.

Elsewhere, Houston Lamar was not as successful – falling to Allen 35-21 in the Class 5A Division I Championship.

Lamar was looking to become the first team from the Houston ISD to win a state championship since 1985 when Yates beat Odessa Permian.
