14YO facing charges for "protecting himself"
A 14-year-old Sterling High School student is facing charges following his arrest Wednesday for bringing a loaded gun onto the campus.
The boy has not been identified because of his age.
He allegedly told HISD police he had armed himself with the weapon as protection from gang members in the neighborhood adjacent to the school property.
