If you're a junk food junkie there's bad news out of the University of Montreal, where researchers say kicking the habit is similar to getting off drugs.
Results of the study are no surprise to Dr. Shreela Sharma, a registered dietitian at the U-T School of Public Health.
"It's really reflected in the obesity epidemic and Type-2 Diabetes epidemic that we're seeing right now."
Dr. Sharma says our love of junk food is killing us.
"America is the only developed country where the next generation of children is going to have a shorter lifespan than their own parents, due to obesity and diabetes."
Dr. Sharma says parents need to keep kids from developing a taste for junk food in the first place.
