Job opportunities exist to end security threat

Plenty of kids want to fly drones, but few know how to program one. Experts are worried a shortage of coders is a security threat.

Mary Dickerson is chief information security officer at the University of Houston.

"There's not enough professionals in Texas or even throughout the country that can address the cyber security threat."

And Dickerson says it's a job opportunity for Texans because there's less international competition.

"There's actually more opportunities for Americans that have these skills because a lot of the foreign-born professionals don't qualify for some of our security clearances."

Dickerson says one way they're trying to get more students to code is by letting them program games.
