A wild cell phone video shows a HarrisCounty couple joining their teen daughter in a fight against another girl. Charles Fields and wife Nicole Curtis are charged with causing injury to a child.
"Instead of the adults trying to prevent them, trying to separate them, and trying to help each kid understand each other," Trevino says. "It looks like they were just trying to promote the ongoing assault."
Curtis insists she and her husband were only trying to stop the fight. But Trevino says that's not what the video shows him.
"Kids will get into fights occasionally, but as grown ups, what we have to do is go there not just to separate them or protect them, but to try to work it out where they understand that kids have differences and they don't have to resolve to a physical assault on each other," he says.
Fields was still in the Harris County Jail on Tuesday, where he is being held without bail.
Curtis was released after posting $5,000 bail.
