Robertson stadium demolition
The major demolition of Robertson stadium began Monday morning. The half million dollar project is the first step in replacing the seventy year old structure.
Alumni, faculty, and students watched as trucks began knocking down walls.
Some expressed concern over parking because at least 2000 spots will be taken offline until the project is complete. But, most students seemed to be ready for a newer, larger football home.
University spokesman Mack Rhodes says, “The new stadium is scheduled to be complete in August of 2014. “
The university is trying to figure out where the team will play home games in the meantime.
