First court appearance after trying to kill himself last month

The man accused of killing 12 people and injuring dozens more at a Denver-area movie theater is expected in court today.  James Holmes is charged with 152 counts related to the case, which include murder and weapons charges.  This will be the first appearance for Holmes since he was taken to the hospital for a head injury after reportedly trying to kill himself last month.

Motions to be dealt with today include one by the defense asking for sanctions against the prosecution. The defense alleges prosecutors violated the court's order limiting pretrial publicity by leaking privileged and confidential information to the media concerning the contents of the package mailed by Holmes to a psychiatrist.  Also to be dealt with is the media's request to have all the victims' names un-redacted.

The movie theater where the massacre happened is due to open to all January 18th.
