Two Alvin boys are killed by shooting victim
Authorities are still trying to piece together the timeline of events that led to the deaths of two Alvin brothers and a third person.

The two boys were apparently helping their father push their pickup after they had run out of gas on County Road 144 near County Road 712C in Brazoria County. Their vehicle was hit from behind by a Chevy Malibu, killing 12-year old David Barajas at the scene; his 11-year old brother Caleb later died at Memorial Hermann Hospital. The boys’ father was also injured.

A person in the Malibu, 20-year old Jose Banda, had a gunshot wound to the head at the time of the accident. He was also airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he later died. Authorities are not yet sure if Banda was driving or was a passenger in the car.
