A&M quarterback is in the Big Apple for the big announcement

Johnny Manziel will learn tonight whether he’s the first freshman to ever win the Heisman Trophy.  He led Texas A&M to an improbable 10-2 record and an invitation to the Cotton Bowl to face Oklahoma on January 4th.

Manziel’s “Heisman moment” came in the Aggies’ upset win over then-top ranked Alabama in Tuscaloosa.  Over the course of the season, he also broke the Southeastern Conference record for total offense set by Auburn’s Cam Newton the year he won the Heisman.

The last A&M Heisman Trophy winner was running back John David Crow in 1957.
