Two suspects with shooting victim arrested
A Harris County Sheriff’s deputy is reassigned following a deadly shooting at his off-duty job. Deputy Louis Campbell, a 26-year veteran of the force, shot 27-year old Shelly Frey as she tried to escape from a Wal Mart parking lot on the North Freeway at West Road. Campbell – who was working security - tried to detain her after reportedly seeing her stuffing merchandise into her bag.
Frey drove off, dragging Campbell along the way, but later died in an apartment complex parking lot. Deputy Campbell was not hurt.
Two women who were with Frey are now facing theft charges. 29-year old Tiasa Andrews and 38-year old Yolanda Craig also allegedly put merchandise in the bags, and then paid for a few items minor items before leaving the store.
