Average Texas family will spend $750 on gifts

It looks like Texans are planning on spending more on Christmas gifts this year compared to last year. Topcashback.com says the Thanksgiving shopping weekend saw an increase in spending from Texas shoppers by 6%.

Natasha-Rachel Smith with Topcashback.com says, "The average Texans spent $423 over the Thanksgiving weekend, up from $398 last year." Smith says since the biggest deals are online, frugal buyers are shopping online in record numbers.

Topcashback.com says the average Texas family will end up spending over $750 on Christmas gifts this year. Natasha-Rachel Smith says shoppers are starting to get the notion that consumer spending helps the economy, as long as people are spending wisely.
