DOJ Investigating Excessive Force, Includes Case Involving Amputee
A group of civil rights leaders are calling on the Department of Justice to investigate six shootings involving HPD. At least two have been high profile cases.

Members of the Texas Civil Rights Project gathered to announce an investigation into six shootings including the case of Brian Claunch. Amin Aalehashem claims the disabled mentally challenged man was unfairly gunned down saying, “They did not properly follow the protocol for mental patients."

But Ray Hunt with the Police Union begs to differ saying “had no choice but to shoot because Claunch had a casket against the light switch.”
The group also wants to know why it took three years to release autopsy for Wilfido Alfaro. They claim he was shot from behind eight times.
