Positive news for Houston
The city of Houston continues to fair better than most of the country when it comes to the economy. A recent study from Brookings Institute says the Houston economy is the best in North America.
However, CareerBuilder also recently released another study about employers. Eighty percent of employers will contact listed references.
Shannon Steed is with Employment Experts and says, “Sometimes the employers will actually call references before they decide to bring a candidate in for an interview.”
The same study says 16% of employers will call references before interviewing. Before listing a reference you should check to make sure they will say something positive.
