You don't need a disclaimer to protect your posts
The latest Facebook hoax involves copyright law. You're told to post a disclaimer about how lifting something from your page is violation and that it's required because of a Facebook policy change. Don't fall for it.
Houston copyright attorney Jeremy Craft of Craftchu Intellectual Property Attorneys says the disclaimer wouldn't make any difference anyway.
"There are absolutely no notice requirements like that.
Craft says common copyright law already protects you.
"Let's say you write a two sentence quote about how you're feeling today and you post it on Facebook -- and then it shows up on a greet card. Well, then that's a copyright violation."
Craft says there's no legitimate reason to worry about someone stealing your Facebook posts.
