When the nationwide housing bubble burst, it soured a lot of Americans on owning homes. But Texas escaped much of the damage and experts say now is a good time to buy a house.
A study by the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank finds buyers are skittish about returning to the housing market. But in Texas, it's a sellers' market.
"We are now starting back up. It's time, if you've been sitting on the fence; it's time to make that purchase."
Real estate expert Barbara Van Poole says housing prices will continue to rise and you need to buy now before it's too late.
"In Houston and in Dallas it's 60% less expensive to buy than it is to rent."
Van Poole says prices reached their low point months ago and they'll only rise from here.
