"Those policymakers in Washington, from our Secretary of Homeland Security to our President on down, are flat wrong when they claim the border is safer than ever."
Commissioner Staples says law enforcement on both sides of the border need to work together to make sure when drug cartel members are chased back to Mexico, Mexican law enforcement is there to make the arrests.
"We need to ramp up our efforts so that when we're chasing these criminals back into the Rio Grande they're met on the Mexican side and we literally squeeze them out of business."
But Staples says the President continues to make jokes and claim the border is safe.
