Lightning strike causes second Kingwood house fire
The Houston Fire Department said a lightning strike is to blame for an elderly woman’s Kingwood home going up in flames Saturday. The owner was alone in her home located in the 16000 block of Maple Trail when she heard a loud boom.
According to a neighbor, the lightning hit the trees then the house, starting a fire in the attic and destroying the home. Fire officials said this is the second house fire in Kingwood caused by lightning.
