Deputies: Child Was Kept in Cage
Liberty County deputies checking into an animal cruelty call at a home on the in Cleveland end up finding a 1-year-old child living in "filthy" conditions.

Captain Rex Evans with the Liberty County Sheriff's Office said they found the girl in poor condition and had her checked out by paramedics. The child has been send to Child Protective Services Custody.
Evans said it looks like the girl was being kept in some sort of cage. He said they will be investigating through Wednesday.

Evans said small roaches were crawling around the child. He said they also found starving cats, dogs and horses. One horse was dead.
Deputies say the child’s 19-year old mother was taken into custody.
