Texas lawmakers are taking a new Al Qaeda video seriously.

In it, followers are urged to use the Internet to attack the West -- including vulnerable infrastructure here in Texas.

Can terrorists turn out the lights in Houston? Republican Congressman Mike McCaul, on the House Homeland Security Committee, says it's possible.

"That capability in the wrong hands can be devastating. And this is not some science fiction thing; this is a real threat."

San Antonio Democratic Congressman Henry Cuellar says Texas' power grid is a target.

"Clearly go after critical infrastructure such as the electrical grid that could be crippled through one of these cyber attacks."

Both say we need to set minimum computer security rules for public and private firms that control infrastructure.

Maine Senator Susan Collins says the video is scary because it instructs those who are sympathetic to Al Qaeda how easy it is to use cyber attacks against the West.
