PETA is hoping to inspire residents to realize that a corpse is a corpse whether fish, fowl, or even Frank!
PETA protesters "cooked" a nearly naked PETA member on a grill in Houston Tuesday , less than one week before smoke from Memorial Day barbecues fills the air.
They wanted to show that all animals are made of flesh, bone, and blood, just as humans are, and that eating meat entails eating the corpse of an animal who was an individual with feelings, a family, and a distinct personality.
PETA organizer Virginia Fort says, “We need to realize that animals have senses and feeling just like humans do. “
The image of a woman on a BBQ grill was very shocking to people in downtown Houston, but that is just what the group was trying to do.
As we head into the holiday they are urging residents to grill vegetables instead of meat.
