Kemah Police: Woman's Story Didn't Add Up

A woman who claimed she was carjacked and then kidnapped has lied, according to Kemah Police.

32-year old Brandy O’Brien reported to police a man with a gun jumped in her car as she was stuck in spring break traffic March 18th, on Texas146. She said he made her drive to a home in Dickinsonand she was tied to a bed there. She claimed she was able to later escape as one of the men watching her fell asleep.

However, Kemah Police Chief Greg Rikard said parts of the story just did not add up. O’Brien was arrested Thursday at her League City home and jailed her with perjury and making a false police report.

Rikard tells The Bay Area Citizen that “there appeared to be some questions at the very beginning and that’s what led us to look at it at the angle we decided to go.” She did not give a reason why she made up the incident, he said.

Bond was set at $4,000. She was to be transferred to Galveston County Jail.
