Father Hospitalized Under Close Watch.
A Houston father is under close surveillance after his baby was found dead inside a refrigerator in their southwest Houston apartment Wednesday.

Houston police received a call from suicidal man at an apartment in the 7100 block of Beechnut about 7:30 a.m. Police said the man refused to let them into his apartment once they arrived.
Maintenance workers at the apartment ended up kicking the door in. Police found the guy lying on the floor and there was no baby. Police said it was obvious that a child lived there.
Detectives made a horrific discovery in the fridge. The 6 months old was inside, wrapped in a blanket and wearing clothing. Investigators suspect the body was inside the refrigerator for at least a day.The man told police he put the baby inside when he stopped breathing.
Detectives said the baby's father has been hospitalized. No names have been released. Police said the father is a veteran, has a criminal history and no job. The mother was out of town caring for a sick relative at the time.
