Pilot Badly Hurt in Pearland Crash.

Authorities say a plane crash near an airport in the Houston area has left a pilot hurt and the small aircraft badly damaged.

Investigators are trying to determine if the plane had engine trouble following takeoff Sunday afternoon from Pearland Regional Airport. The single-engine plane clipped some trees and went down near a creek.

Authorities say the 55-year-old pilot was alone on board and he was conscious following the crash. He's been transported to a hospital. His name has not been released. Further details on his condition were not immediately available Monday.
