A Local Man is Being Called a Hero After an Airborne Scuffle.

A Houston man is being called a hero after stepping in after a man began acting violent on a U.S. Airways flight.

The incident took place on Monday night; Ben Harwood Rose took off on Flight 500 from the Los Angeles International Airport. He was heading to Houston after a stop in Phoenix.

During the flight, Rose said a man charged down the aisle and tried to ram the drink cart into the flight attendant. He said he stood up and confronted the man and eventually tackled him.

U.S. Airways confirmed the passenger was subdues and local law enforcement took the passenger into custody.

As Rose boarded his flight to Houston he received a hero’s welcome with applause and people shaking his hand.
