He's Heating Up!
Mirza Teletovic of the Nets is a rookie from Bosnia who shot three straight air balls against the Pistons on Wednesday. Hopefully the Pistons started leaving him alone and using five guys to guard the other four; the Nets still won anyway 93-90.
Rock Chalk, Choke Hawk:
If you missed it last night, number 5 Kansas lost to TCU who was 0-8 in conference play and ranked outside of the top 200 for pretty much every ranking coming into the game. Kansas also lost last Saturday, at home, to Oklahoma State, the first time they've lost back to back games since 2006. In offensive efficiency, TCU ranks 323rd out of 347 teams. Going by rankings like RPI or Pomeroy, TCU beating Kansas was a bigger upset than a 16 seed defeating a 1 seed. Kansas typically doesn't have to rebuild, they just reload, but they've got serious issues at the point guard position they'll need to figure out before the tournament. From the Big Lead on Kansas point guards, "In conference play, Elijah Johnson has just one more assist than turnovers, and is shooting 25 of 82 from the field. The other option, Naadir Tharpe, is even worse from the field, 14 of 64 in conference play." No wonder Self said this was the worst Kansas team since Dr. Naismith lost to the Topeka YMCA.
One big dunk from the upset win
TCU fans, as you would expect, were very happy.
