I've got a couple of things I would like to talk about in this week's email tip. First, from the SHAMELESS PLUG: Chapter 2-Book-of-Promoting-an-Appearance, this Saturday March 14th, we are broadcasting GardenLine from the Cy Fair Home and Garden Show at the Berry Center on Barker Cypress, just south of 290. And, once again, this is where you get your hands on the highly coveted LemmonHead T-shirt.   Here's the other message I thought was worth mentioning in this week's tip. First, I actually had a lady ask this question to me in person just this past Tuesday: When are the bluebonnets gonna be out?" The answer is they are out now! The only problem is they may not be that prolific this year. With the driest conditions the state has seen in 60 years, this is likely to be a "down" year for bluebonnets. The biggest flush may still be about two weeks away, with the slight chance that this past week's weather system may give them a boost. However, it's not so much the dry January and February we've endured, it was the dry November and December, when they needed ample rains to produce after seeding. Thankfully, that drought damage hasn't been as tough closer to Houston as it has been in West Texas and the Hill Country. With that said, here are some great websites for you to link to, so you can track down the best batches for yourself. Don't forget your cameras, and a cute little kid wouldn't hurt either. Many prolific wildflower regions have dried up like some people's 401(k)s this year.
