It is with a sad, sad heart I come to you with this week's email tip. One of our favorite ladies of GardenLine, Marcia Roenigk with the Vintage Rosery has passed away. Marcia and her husband Bob own and operate the Vintage Rosery in Needville.
After a long illness, which she fought bravely through she finally passed away this past Saturday. Our prayers and thoughts are with Bob Roenigk and as per his request, instead of any donation of flowers at her memorial, if you are so inclined, they are taking donations for a prayer garden to be built in Marcia's memory at their church. Here's an excerpt from Bob Roenigk's e-mail to family and friends that I believe expresses it all: "Marcia fought a tough battle these last two months. Even though she was weak and in pain, each time she would see a family member or friend walk in her room she would smile. It is hard to smile when you are hurting, but Marcia never let her physical challenges stop her from enjoying life. The good news is she is no longer suffering with physical challenges as she is walking with her Lord and Savior in Heaven. We will all miss her. She touched many lives. I want to thank everyone for the many prayers remembering Marcia. Our wonderful God answers every one in His own special way." Bob Roenigk If you knew Marcia, and would like to pay her your respects with her many family and friends, there will be a Memorial Service this Saturday, November 3rd, at 1 p.m. at Creekside Christian Fellowship, located adjacent to The Vintage Rosery in Needville. Again, in lieu of flowers, contributions in Marcia's memory may be made to Creekside Christian Fellowship for their prayer garden. Creekside Christian Fellowship Until next issue, here's to Great Gardening from the GardenLine, heard exclusively, 6-10 a.m. Saturdays and 7-10 a.m. Sundays, only on NewsRadio 740 KTRH. |
