GARDENLINE IS MOVING BACK TO NEWSRADIO 740 KTRH
For those of you GardenLine devotees who had a chance to listen to the radio program this past weekend, you may already be aware that GardenLine is officially moving back to where it first established its roots - NewsRadio 740 KTRH.
The official change will take place on Sat., Jan. 13, which leaves us one more weekend on KTRH's sister station TalkRadio 950 KPRC. This is one of those bitter-sweet decisions, because while I've thoroughly enjoyed being on 950KPRC for the past 5 years, it's also an honor to be transplanted back to where it all began for me in December of 1995.
Besides the change of frequency and call letters, not much about GardenLine will change. I will still answer as many calls and e-mails as possible. I will promise to hook you up with the best clients and products as well, and we will continue to send out these weekly e-mail tips without any interruption, but keep in mind the showtime changes. On NewsRadio 740 KTRH, GardenLine will officially air weekend mornings from 7-10. The call-in number changes too, as of Sat., Jan. 13, dial 713-212-KTRH (5874) to reach the GardenLine.
Lastly, the website will eventually move to www.ktrh.com. The direct address to GardenLine is: www.ktrh.com/pages/gardenline.html. Keep in mind, that these website changes won't go into effect until Jan. 13, when we officially re-introduce GardenLine to the masses on NewsRadio 740 KTRH.
But back to the things that won't change....
The first thing that won't change is my love for this job that I take very seriously. As I wrote in my book, Gulf Coast Gardening, I'm an Information Specialist, not necessarily a horticulturist. So, I do my best to give you information from all sides, warts 'n all. While I do take this job seriously, I hope you're like me and don't take the actual gardening part too seriously. There really is no such thing a perfect garden, not here in Houston. If you can always think of it as "a work in progress" I think you will enjoy gardening in Houston so much more. I'm a firm believer in the idea that "you learn something new every day," and I will also continue to learn for you and through you, the GardenLine listener.
Just by listening to GardenLine you're not going to get rid of every weed or every disease, but like me, you will learn something new everyday if you pay attention. So, while you make the change with me to NewsRadio 740 KTRH, get out there and have fun in the garden this year. Do it with a smile on your face, and remember the old Gardeners mantra "LIFE IS GOOD WHEN YOU CAN PLAY IN THE DIRT." It's something that I still believe strongly in to this day, as I love it when my hands come in contact with Mother Earth.
Again, the change takes place Sat., Jan. 13 at 7 a.m., as GardenLine moves back home to NewsRadio 740 KTRH.
Be sure to check out
So until then, here's to great gardening from the GardenLine, heard exclusively weekend mornings 8 a.m.-noon on TALKRADIO 950 KPRC.
