Rain, Rain … Come Again for Many Days!
The rains and cooler temperatures allow us to finally start winterizing and give our lawns their fall treatments. If we didn't get the rains and/or cooler temperatures, it could have delayed the fall part of our fertilization schedules. However, the rains and these cooler temps have taken the handcuffs off, so to speak. Even if you are still on minor irrigation restrictions, you can stick to the schedule, be it the synthetic or organic, since you only need one or two days of watering to activate the fertilizations. If you are on a complete watering restriction, you will need to wait for more rain and try to time it just right. GardenLine Appearance = Cheap Mulch This Saturday In the past, the Living Earth $10 mulch deal happened once a year. However, the drought may have forced them into delirium, and they want to do it again. Get a cubic yard of Houston Mulch/Shredded Hardwood Mulch for just $10 at all 11 locations this Saturday. Actually, the drought is the main reason they are offering this again. It's a wise move. The easiest thing you can do for most trees and landscapes during a drought is to provide quality mulch at least three times a year.
Is there a catch? Not really, but the deal is available Saturday only until 1 p.m. And you need to mention my name or wear your Lemmonhead shirt. Don't have one? I’ll be at one location with a few to hand out. Randy Lemmon's GardenLine is heard 6-10 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays, exclusively on NewsRadio 740 KTRH. Visit the GardenLine Home Page!
