Here's Randy's Weekly KTRH GardenLine Tip:

We did this deal for the first time several years ago, giving it the headline "My Name Equals Cheap Mulch." As I said then, I'm not sure that's the best marketing slogan, but this Saturday the name Randy Lemmon again means you can get bulk shredded hardwood mulch for just $10 a cubic yard. That, my friends, is really cheap mulch!

This offer is good at all 11 Living Earth locations, including the newest at 5210 S. Sam Houston Pkwy., between Cullen and Telephone, where I'll be on hand to help promote the event. I'm sure you're assuming there's a limit, and there is — 10 cubic yards. To put that in perspective, most pickup trucks can carry just under two cubic yards, and most trailers can carry up to five. So, the limit is meaningless, if you're willing to make multiple trips. But, you DO have to mention my name or GardenLine to get the deal.

And just how good is this deal? Well, one cubic yard is roughly 27 cubic feet. The average bag of mulch contains 2-3 cubic feet. So, you'll get the equivalent of 9-12 bags of mulch for only $10 bucks. (These are rough numbers ... no math critics, please.) If you need more than 20 bags of mulch, and you get two cubic yards for $20 this Saturday, you'll save around 40 smackers! You can usually get 3-4 bags of mulch for $10-$12 at this time of year, and you would need 20 bags or more to equal two cubic yards. So, it's not just a good deal, it's a GREAT DEAL! But it's for one day only!!

Now here's why should you come by the South Beltway location where I'll will be doing the GardenLine appearance 11 a.m.-1 p.m. We've got free food, (They are famous for their homemade sausage on a stick.) and free soft drinks. And to coincide with the sale of $10 mulch, I will have my new book for sale at $10 as well, if you buy two or more. (A single copy is $15.) I'll also have my older book at $15, but if you buy the pair, I will go to the $10 deal, too ... buy the pair for only $20. However, just like our home and garden show deals, bring cash or check — I don't have the ability to personally process debit/credit cards.

This will also be another opportunity for me to "get a pair of eyes" on samples of your plant problems.
