Anxious to Get Busy In the Landscape?
If you're like me, you're probably chompin' at the bit to get busy in your landscape. And although there are things we can and should be doing now, we still aren't out of the woods when it comes to pruning.First, however, a bit of unfinished business. Last week, I linked you to several Web site I thought would be useful in helping you revive your soil following the December/January freeze. Still, I received some skeptical e-mail from listeners wondering why. So this week, I thought I would share with you two technical papers by a couple experts on improving soils — John Ferguson with Nature's Way Resources, and Stuart Franke with Medina. No need to just take my word on the importance of amending the soil, you've now got two great papers on the subject.
John's paper is called "The True Value of Compost." Stuart's is entitled "Managing Healthy Soils."
Then, 8-10 a.m. Sunday, my go-to palm experts, Linda Gay of the Mercer Arboretum and Grant Stephenson of Horticultural Consultants Inc. will be on the program to answer all your "frozen palm" questions - the good, the bad & the ugly! Now ... what are some things you can and should be doing right now if you're itching to get going in the landscape?
