Following a string of issues with Boeing jets and production problems at Airbus, the airline industry is now grappling with a plane shortage, just in time for the 2024 travel season.

Travel expert Catherine Banks explained to KTRH, "It's the ripple effect from the construction of these planes. When one of them encounters a problem, it necessitates checks on all of them, creating significant challenges."

This shortage of planes is driving ticket prices upwards, and as demand escalates closer to peak travel times, prices are expected to climb even higher. Banks advises against waiting for prices to drop before booking flights, as this is unlikely to happen.

To shield yourself from rising airline fares, Banks recommends booking flights well in advance and considering traveling on weekdays. Additionally, she suggests that the timing of various flights can also impact pricing.
