It Looks Like The IRS Lied About Who Those 80,000 New Agents Would Target

Today is 'Tax Day', but remember that day when Joe Biden and the Democrats -promised- that the more than 80,000 new agents hired would 'only target the rich'? It turns out, they lied.

"Congress gave the IRS $80 billion dollars to augment their audit functions" said Adam Andrzejewski, CEO of Open The Books.com, "And as of last summer, 63% of the new audits targeted taxpayers with incomes less than $200,000."

That is not what they said. Remember this letter for Treasury Secretary, Janet Yellen?

"Contrary to the misinformation from opponents of this legislation, small business or households earning $400,000 per year or less will not see an increase in the chances that they are audited," Yellen penned in a letter to IRS commissioner Charles Rettig, in 2022.

The bottom line is, the IRS is already hard at work targeting the middle class.

"That flies in the face of the promise from U.S. Treasury Secretary, Janet Yellen" Andrzejewski told KTRH, "She said none of the new audits would fall to people making less than $400,000! So it was a complete misleading of Congress, and the American people."

According to reports, only a small number of audits have hit the highest earners in the U.S. And as for working for the IRS? They set a goal of starting the year with 3,700 new agents. They've hired 34.
