As Trump begins his effort to unite the Republican party against Biden, the group Republican Voters Against Trump is spending big money to keep the party divided. They recently carried out a $50 million ad buy to attack the former president.

GOP Consultant Matt Mackowiak told KTRH, "I don't really believe that group is fundamentally a Republican group. I think the vast majority of their funds come from Democrats who want to see Biden win." He thinks most of the GOP, with the exception of a few former officials, will unite behind Trump sooner or later.

He also noted that this ad campaign isn't likely to have much effect, due to the fact that Trump's base of support is one of the strongest and most loyal in modern political history. He said, "We've never seen anyone in modern American politics who has engendered more intense support on the Republican side than Donald Trump."

Mackowiak says that at the end of the day, whether you love Trump or hate him, the 2024 election is going to be a binary choice between Trump's policies or Biden's.
