The Triple-A Texas Weekend Gas Watch says the statewide average gas price in Texas is $3.07a gallon for regular unleaded.
That price is down one-cent from a week ago, and is $1.27 more than a year ago. The national average is $3.42.
A slight drop in demand has led to some price relief at the pump. But pump prices will stay high as long as oil prices are above $80 dollars a barrel.
The average price at the pump in Houston is $3.03.
