Houston Police Officer Shot; Suspect On The Run

Houston Police are searching for the man who shot and wounded an HPD officer Sunday night. Police Chief Troy Finner says the officer, 33-year-old John Brown, was off-duty working a security job at an apartment complex in the Spring Branch area, when he went to question a suspicious person on the property. During the confrontation, the suspect pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots, hitting Brown in the leg before running off. The officer did not fire any shots. Brown was treated and released from the hospital.

The suspect is described as a heavy set Hispanic man, about 5'7" to 5'8" wearing a white shirt and black shorts. Anyone with information on his whereabout should call Houston Crime Stoppers at (713) 222-TIPS.
