Assisted living facilities are included in phase 1-a for Covid vaccinations. Although the roll out was slow, now federal and state pharmacy and nursing home officials say they are on track to complete these vaccinations by the end of the month (January, 2021). Mark Mullahy, CEO of Houston's Holly Hall says all of his staff and residents have had their first shot. "We're working with CVS and Omnicare. They have really stepped up in our industry facilitating our Covid-19 vaccines." Holly Hall residents and staff already have appointments next week for the second shots.
Mullahy says they will continue their protocol which includes only outdoor family visits. "We have not relaxed any of our protocols. We didn't want to 'Ahhhh...now we can relax now that we've got the vaccine!'" Mullahy says living and working with 200 other people makes care priority one.
