October TSA Numbers Show Americans Steadily Beginning to Fly Again

It looks like more of us are willing to fly again.

The Transportation Security Administration says they've seen some of the highest 2020 numbers in the month of October, as Americans are slowly and steadily returning to the airport. A little over a week ago (on October 18th), the TSA screened a million passengers in a single day.

“As people get used to the virus, and see that the airlines are taking precautions, they’re willing to take a chance because of the convenience of flying,” Aviation expert and retired commercial airline pilot Denny Kelly said.

Kelly adds the uptick is a good sign, but says we're still two to three years away from getting back to pre-pandemic levels. The daily count is still less (in some cases) than to two million passengers (year over year) compared to 2019.
