President Trump is feuding with his favorite social media platform. Twitter "fact-checked" one of his tweets -- and got it wrong -- and then ruled a tweet about the rioters in Minneapolis violated Twitter's policies by "glorifying violence."
President Trump says Twitter is meddling with the election but tech writer John Quain disagrees.
"I don't think it's going to have much effect on the election I mean the issue, people talk about the politics but you know what it's really about? It's really about, like so many things, the money."
Quain says maybe it's time to hold social media accountable for what it allows posted.
"The New York Times or the radio station is, or the TV station is; if you put something on the air you're responsible for it. How come Facebook isn't? How come Twitter isn't?"
Quain says, so far, the courts have ruled Yelp, for example, can't be held accountable for damaging reviews posted on its site.
"And the question is, shouldn't they be liable if I post a nasty review of something; should that site, Yelp, be liable for that review and what it says if it damages a person's business? So far courts have ruled nah, not so much."
