Retail to go in Texas kicks off today

Texas takes the next step in the re-opening of the economy as 'retail to go' officially gets underway today.

Basically this is like picking up a to go order from your favorite restaurant. Daniel Braden with Fleet Feet Houston says this will help, because they have kept all their employees on the job since this started.

"We felt like that was the right thing to do. With sales down about 80% it's definitely been an emotional struggle, and definitely, a leap of faith," Braden said.

Darrell Gorski at Village Greenery and Flowers told us after weeks of slow business, retail to go is just what his shop needs.

"Hopefully in the weeks to come, as people start easing up on restrictions, they will be buying flowers again," Gorski stated, adding that there has been almost zero business for him since this all began.

Governor Greg Abbott is expected to unveil more steps to re-open the economy by next week.
